Application Process

  • Create an account on the portal. (View a user guide for this process.)
  • Save your login credentials, you will use these to be able to update your application and view your application status.

  • To see if you qualify for assistance, you will need to submit an Eviction Prevention Application
  • The Housing Provider Outreach team will contact your housing provider to see if they will cancel eviction proceedings and accept payment from the program.
  • Your application will be reviewed by eligibility. Should your application be approved, you will receive an approval email and be assigned a Housing Stability Coach or Housing Facilitator.

  • If you are assigned a Housing Stability Coach, you will be contacted to set up an appointment. When you meet with your coach, you will review the following training materials:
  • If you are assigned a Housing Facilitator through a community partner agency, the facilitator will reach out to you with any additional steps.
  • Upon approval of your application, an eviction prevention payment will be sent to your housing provider
  • Should you be determined eligible for additional months of rental assistance, coaching sessions must be completed in order for additional payments to be released.

Should you be determined eligible to receive additional assistance beyond the eviction prevention payment and months of assistance, you will be sent an email with instructions to complete a recertification in the portal.

The appeal process is available if you disagree with a decision made by the Department on your application for rent help. To file an appeal, fill out the SFN 62086.

Once your appeal form is completed, click on the email to submit. You can attach additional files to support your appeal request.
