The Working Parents Child Care Relief pilot program involves a shared investment by employers, the state of North Dakota and working parents. It’s a matching employer benefit pilot program.
Pilot program runs until allocated funding is exhausted or through September 2026, whichever occurs first.

Timeline and end date for WPCCR pilot program

Funding for the WPCCR pilot program will be fully utilized in September. After September, HHS will not continue providing a match to employer-led childcare benefits. The final match payment from HHS will be for childcare benefits provided by employers in August.
No new applications will be accepted. Pending applications will continue to be reviewed. Current participating parents’ eligibility will be extended until September.

The Employer Child Care Contribution Tax Credit is an income tax credit that is available to a taxpayer that is an employer which makes qualified childcare contributions for its employees. The credit may be earned by employer payments made directly to childcare facilities or to employees for reimbursement of their childcare costs for qualified childcare. The employer must provide an equal opportunity for all its employees with childcare costs to participate. Learn more about the tax credit at tax.nd.gov.
