The mission of the program is to provide access to medical care, treatment, health coverage, and support services to help individuals manage their HIV and maintain their optimal health and overall well-being. In addition, those with well-managed HIV who are virally suppressed cannot transmit HIV.

Core Ryan White services include HIV outpatient medical care, dental, vision, mental health, medication and insurance premium assistance through AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), and medical case management. Support services include non-medical case management, medical transportation assistance, emergency financial assistance for rent and utilities, psychosocial services (individual peer support and support groups), and nutritional supplements.

To qualify for the North Dakota Ryan White Program, an individual must have HIV, be a North Dakota resident, and have income at or below 500 percent of the federal poverty level
