A license is required to provide foster care in your home. An application (SFN 893) and reference check (SFN 902) are required to begin the process. All adults living in the home must successfully complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check. The licensing specialist will then complete a home study and make a determination to approve or deny a license.

To find the agency nearest you or to visit with foster care representatives about the licensing process, contact the UND Children and Family Services Training Center (CFSTC) at 1-833-FST-HOME or 1-833-378-4663. You may also choose to complete an online interest form.
