Counting kicks is a simple way to monitor your baby’s well-being.

Expectant parents should begin counting daily at the start of the third trimester.

It is easy to do follow these four steps:

  1. Start a timer and record the time it takes for you to feel 10 movements.
  2. Pick a time when baby is active to start counting, preferably the same time every day.
  3. After each day's counting session, compare that time with your past sessions.
  4. Contact your provider if you notice any significant changes in the amount of time it takes to get to 10.
