Our Mission
We support high-quality early childhood experiences that build the foundation children need to thrive in school and in life. This work is supported by the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) and guided by priorities outlined in North Dakota's CCDF State Plan.
Our Goals
Workforce Development
We provide training, coaching, and financial incentives to help early childhood professionals grow their skills and advance their careers.
Quality Improvement
Through Bright & Early ND, North Dakota’s Quality Rating and Improvement System, we assess programs, offer coaching, and support continuous improvement.
Health and Safety
We provide monitoring, inspections and guidance to help programs meet and maintain health and safety standards.
Consumer Education
We give families clear, easy-to-understand information so they can find, compare, and choose the right early childhood program for their children.
Early Learning Standards
We maintain North Dakota’s Early Learning Standards: Birth to Kindergarten to reflect best practices and support children’s growth and learning.
Why This Work Matters
During the first five years of a child's life, their brain develops faster than at any other time. The experiences they have during this period will shape their future. That's why high-quality early childhood experiences are so important. Children with access to these experiences do better in school, make healthier choices, are more likely to graduate, and find jobs.
Investing in high-quality early childhood experiences is an investment in the future of North Dakota’s children, families, and communities.
