North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) is offering grants and incentives to help early childhood programs and providers.

Inclusive Care Support Grant

The Inclusive Care Support Grant helps programs improve inclusive care and better meet the needs of children with disabilities or developmental delays.

To apply, providers must: 

  • Be an HHS-licensed or self-declared provider.
  • Care for a child with a current:  
    • Individualized Education Program (IEP), or 
    • Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Submit all required application materials.

Grow Child Care Grant

The Grow Child Care Grant supports newly licensed or expanding childcare programs in North Dakota’s desert and high-needs counties. 

Eligible programs must:

  • Apply within 60 days of licensing or expansion.
  • Have a viable business plan.
  • Submit a start-up budget.

High-needs counties

  • Benson, Divide, Griggs, Kidder, McLean, Morton, Mountrail, Oliver, Sheridan and Wells

Early childhood incentives 

Career Pathway Advancement

  • Recognizes professionals who have advanced their Career Pathway. 
  • Application dates: October 1–31, 2026

Workforce Training and Education Incentive

  • Financial support for the completion of specific training or early childhood college coursework.
  • Application dates: ongoing

Child Development Associate (CDA) Professional Development (PD) Specialist Incentive

  • Support for certified CDA PD specialists after verification.
  • Application dates: ongoing

Workforce Registry Incentive

  • Rewards you for staying active and consistent in the Registry.
  • Application dates: January 1-31, 2027
