What is ND Moves Together?
Working to make North Dakota
the healthiest state in the nation.
ND Moves Together is a new HHS initiative developed to make daily physical activity easier, more accessible and more supported in every community across North Dakota—especially rural areas. The program is designed to use proven strategies to help people move more, connect with resources and build long-term healthy habits.
When it comes to movement, a regular fitness routine may be ideal for some, but you don't need a gym or special equipment to live an active, healthy lifestyle. Gardening, dancing, cleaning the house, playing with your children, building a snowman, dancing in the rain, walking, taking the stairs, caring for animals, baling hay—it all adds up.
Our goal is simple, but makes all the difference. By prioritizing movement, nutrition and well-being, we encourage North Dakotans to join us in Growing Healthier. Rooted in Wellness.
Through this program, HHS offers:
- Program and grant funding for community partners and healthcare providers
- Educational support, toolkits and resources for communities, employers, schools, organizations and more
- Science-backed, evidenced-based insights and behavior change strategies
- Active living tips, challenges, education, resources and encouragement for North Dakotans and families
- Data dashboards and success stories to track our journey towards a healthier North Dakota, together
