A mobile food unit is a vehicle-mounted food service establishment designed to be readily movable.
Mobile food units are licensed and inspected in North Dakota by a local public health agency or by Food and Lodging. Reciprocity is when a mobile food unit is licensed in North Dakota, and another agency allows that unit to operate in their jurisdiction; the agency would not require an additional license in this case. Local agencies, cities, or counties may have additional requirements.
Refer to the Mobile Food Unit Regulatory Jurisdictions Map and Reciprocity Flowchart for licensing requirements and where reciprocity is offered.
