The Counseling, Testing and Referral (CTR) program aims to increase HIV and Hepatitis C testing for those at-risk. CTR sites provide rapid and confirmatory HIV and hepatitis C testing, viral hepatitis vaccination, prevention education, counseling services, etc. CTR sites ensure individuals are aware of their HIV hepatitis C status and provide education to reduce their risk of acquiring an infection.
Ryan White Coordinators
In North Dakota, persons living with HIV (PLWH) can face barriers to navigating and accessing care including stigma, lack of qualified providers and support services in the area, transportation financial resources, and access to affordable housing. The Ryan White (RW) Program plays a vital role in helping clients to navigate and access HIV care and support services.
Syringe Service Programs
Syringe service programs (SSPs) become legal in North Dakota in August 2017. With this legislation, the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services to authorize SSPs. The authorization process ensures that SSPs meet legislative requirements and are developed with the input of the community. Once programs are authorized, they may begin operation and must reauthorize annually. There are currently five authorized SSPs in North Dakota.
