The health navigator plays a key role in connecting refugees and newcomers to the health care system. Operating regionally, they build and maintain strong partnerships with resettlement agencies, refugee service providers and a broad network of health professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Health navigators collaborate closely with the refugee health provider network to understand clients’ needs and address barriers to promote and support health security and long-term self-sufficiency. It is also responsible for ensuring that clients complete required medical screenings and have timely access to preventative and specialty health services.
