Legislative Overview
In 2021, Senate Bill 2161 created a new section of North Dakota Century Code, NDCC 50-06-06.15 (opens PDF in new window) , authorizing the Department of Health & Human Services to create a mental health program registry and requiring Mental Health Programs to provide information at least annually.
In 2026, the directory was updated to include Substance Use Disorder (SUD) programs, enhanced with additional search filters and renamed the North Dakota Behavioral Health Program Directory.
