North Dakota Health and Human Services offices in Bismarck, Devils Lake, Fargo, Grafton, Grand Forks, Jamestown, Rolla and Valley City that directly serve clients will close today, April 4 at noon CDT, and will remain closed all day tomorrow, April 5, in response to winter weather warnings and anticipated hazardous travel conditions.  

Affected offices include five of the agency’s regional human service centers and their outreach offices, and the agency’s vocational rehabilitation and child support offices in the impacted regions. Details appear below. 

IMPORTANT: People experiencing a behavioral health crisis should call the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

IMPACTED OFFICES:
Bismarck region: West Central Human Service Center in Bismarck and the regional vocational rehabilitation and child support offices will close today, April 4 at noon CDT and will remain closed tomorrow, April 5.   

Devils Lake region: Lake Region Human Service Center and the regional vocational rehabilitation and child support offices in Devils Lake along with LRHSC’s Rolla outreach office will close today, April 4 at noon CDT and will remain closed tomorrow, April 5.   

Fargo region: Southeast Human Service Center and the regional vocational rehabilitation and child support offices in Fargo will close today, April 4 at noon CDT and will remain closed tomorrow, April 5.   

Grand Forks region: Northeast Human Service Center and the regional vocational rehabilitation and child support offices in Grand Forks along with NEHSC’s Grafton outreach office will close today, April 4 at noon CDT and will remain closed tomorrow, April 5.   

The Life Skills and Transition Center in Grafton will remain open and is not affected by the closures.

Jamestown region: South Central Human Service Center and the regional vocational rehabilitation and child support offices in Jamestown and SCHSC’s Valley City outreach office will close today, April 4 at noon CDT and will remain closed tomorrow, April 5.   

The North Dakota State Hospital will remain open and is not affected by the closures.

HHS officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates as needed.

Clients with previously scheduled appointments will be contacted. Office closure decisions are made for the safety of clients and team members and align with closures of other community clinics and government organizations. 

Weather-related office closure information can be found on the HHS Facebook and Twitter pages and website. Child support customers can conduct normal business 24-hours a day on that program’s secure website.
