Why Professional Development Matters
At Health and Human Services, we believe training helps you do your job well.
Professional development helps you build skills and learn new things. It gives you the confidence to support children’s learning. It also helps you create safe and caring places for children.
Benefits of Professional Development
- Build skills: Learn new ways to teach and support children
- Stay current: Keep up with new ideas and best practices
- Grow your career: Find new job opportunities
- Help children succeed: Better training helps children learn and grow
- Connect with others: Meet and learn from other professionals
Log in to the ND Early Childhood Hub to access professional development and training, explore grant opportunities, work toward becoming quality rated and more.
Licensed and self-declared providers must complete training when they start work and each year after.
Career development focuses on your long-term career, not just your current job. It is about your goals, interests, and plans for the future.
The Early Childhood Workforce Registry, formerly called Growing Futures, is a free and optional tool for early childhood professionals.
You can use the Registry to track your training, verify your education, and keep a record of your work. It also helps you show your achievements and grow your career.
