Ryan White Program Part B provides case management and reimbursement of services for persons living with HIV in North Dakota. The mission of the program is to provide access to medical care, treatment, health coverage, and support services to help individuals manage their HIV and maintain their health, as well as and prevent further transmission of HIV.

Core services include HIV outpatient medical care, dental, vision, mental health, medication and insurance premium assistance through AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), and medical case management. Support services include non-medical case management, transportation assistance, emergency financial assistance with rent and utilities, and nutritional supplements. 

To qualify for the North Dakota Ryan White program, an individual must have HIV, be a North Dakota resident, and have income at or below 500 percent of the poverty level.

Fourteen agencies across North Dakota are funded to provide or reimburse core and support services. Regional Ryan White coordinators assist clients to manage their medical care and provide reimbursement for services including HIV medical care, medications, health insurance premiums, medical transportation, emergency financial assistance, and others. AIDS Drug Assistance Program

 

The AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) provides medications for the uninsured, and medication copay and insurance premium assistance for those with qualifying insurance. ADAP is the payer of last resort and those that qualify for employer insurance or Medicaid must enroll in eligible coverage.

Ryan White program provides reimbursement assistance for HIV-related medical care, dental care, and vision care. In North Dakota, HIV medical care is provided by private infectious disease providers.
