3 P.M.        Welcome and Call to Order: Carlotta McCleary, Chairperson

This one-hour learning session has been set up to provide North Dakota’s Behavioral Health Planning Council members an opportunity to learn more about the Institutions for Mental Diseases (IMDs) 1115 Waiver. The IMD 1115 Waiver will be a part of our 12/14/2022 agenda for discussion and for possible consideration of a recommendation from the Executive Committee. During this learning session we will have the opportunity to hear from representatives from Speire Healthcare Strategies and Deloitte all who have related expertise.

Speire Healthcare Strategies is a health policy and strategy firm specializing in complex state and federal government programs. It brings extensive Medicaid, managed care and health reform experience to advise executives across the healthcare ecosystem on how to navigate the continually changing government landscape. The firm has worked with federal and state government agencies, health plans, healthcare providers, foundations, professional service firms, and investors to define strategies that can be quickly executed. Members of the team are regularly tapped to play leadership roles in critical healthcare initiatives, including a current commissioner for the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) and former leadership roles with the National Association of Medicaid Directors (NAMD).

Deloitte is part of the largest professional services network in the world, providing industry-leading consulting and advisory services to both public and private sector clients. Deloitte professionals work across industry sectors to deliver measurable and lasting results that inspire clients to see challenges as opportunities to transform and thrive. Deloitte’s Health Transformation Services bring a unique combination of deep Medicaid experience coupled with the strength of a recognized leader in organizational assessment, business transformation, and financial management.
