- The State of North Dakota and the U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ) reached a settlement agreement that outlines actions the state will take to expand access to home and community-based care services and enable individuals with physical disabilities to live in the least restrictive setting possible.
- It also reflects that home and community-based services are the preferred form of care for disabled adults and the most cost-efficient form of services.
The North Dakota Department of Human Services hosted four virtual Department of Justice settlement agreement listening sessions in February 2021 to gather stakeholder input on a draft implementation plan and to develop a strategy for ongoing stakeholder involvement.
