Early childhood professionals in North Dakota have new opportunities to build their skills and advance their careers through two statewide training initiatives now available on the ND Early Childhood Training Calendar.

CDA® training now available at no cost

The Early Childhood Workforce Registry has partnered with iPD – Zero to Three to offer free Child Development Associate (CDA®) credential-focused training. Six courses are now available to help fulfill 80 of the required 120 hours of registry-approved early childhood education training.

Each course satisfies 10 training hours in one of the eight CDA® subject areas:

  • CDA Subject Area IV: Building Productive Relationships with Families
  • CDA Subject Area V: Managing an Effective Program Operation
  • CDA Subject Area VI: Maintaining a Commitment to Professionalism
  • CDA Subject Area VII: Observing and Recording Children’s Behavior
  • CDA Subject Area VIII: Understanding Principles of Child Development and Learning

  • CDA Subject Area I: Planning a Safe and Healthy Learning Environment
  • CDA Subject Area II: Advancing Children's Physical and Intellectual Development
  • CDA Subject Area III: Supporting Children's Social and Emotional Development

The CDA® National Credentialing Program is a professional development opportunity for early educators working in a variety of settings with children ages birth to 5 and their families. Participants demonstrate their knowledge, skills and abilities in the early childhood education field while working toward this widely recognized credential.

Pyramid model training and incentive updates

We’re excited to share that the Early Childhood team has partnered with the Pyramid Model Consortium to bring you three new trainings, now available on the ND Early Childhood Training Calendar.

  • ePyramid Preschool Module
  • ePyramid Infant-Toddler Modules
  • ePyramid Model for Family Child Care

Incentive update

Starting in December, HHS will begin offering incentives for completing these new pyramid model trainings. At the same time, the current incentive for the ePyramid Birth to 5 Module Package will end.

  • If you are currently working on the Birth to 5 training to earn an incentive, be sure to finish it by the end of November!
