Make Your Child Care Program Stronger
Join our Spring 2026 Pyramid Model Implementation cohort to get hands-on help and use proven strategies that help children grow and succeed.
What is the Pyramid Model?
The Pyramid Model is a clear, step-by-step approach that helps you create a safe, caring, and consistent child care environment. It builds on children's skills, helps prevent problem behaviors, and prepares them for lifelong success. It works for all children, including those who need extra help.
If you are an Owner, Operator, or Director of a licensed child care program caring for children ages 2 – 5, you are encouraged to apply for our Spring 2026 cohort.
Priority will be given to programs that:
- Serve children ages 2 to 5.
- Demonstrate at least a 1 year commitment.
- Are actively engaged with USpireND services.
- Have a Bright & Early ND Quality Rating of Step 2, 3 or 4.
- Can commit to weekly coaching, complete training modules, set goals, collaborate, and stay committed to the process.
Only 5 programs will be selected for the Spring 2026 cohort.
- Selected programs will designate one leader and two teachers/caregivers to engage in training and coaching.
If you are selected, you’ll get the support and funding you need to use the Pyramid Model in your program.
Selected programs will get:
- Ongoing, one-on-one training and coaching.
- Tools and resources for professional growth.
- Funding to help put the Pyramid Model into practice.
- Funds may be used to support such items as the purchase of training modules, staff stipends and incentives, program materials or substitute pay for employees to engage in training and coaching.
- 29 hours of ND Registry-approved training.
Programs that use the Pyramid Model often see:
- Fewer challenging behaviors in children.
- Teachers who feel more confident and skilled.
- Happier staff and families.
- Less staff turnover.
Families and child care providers can get free helpful resources from the National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations.
