Introduction
What are FamilyFirst Services, and who can they help?
FamilyFirst services (funded by Title IV-E) address mental/behavioral health, substance abuse treatment and recovery support as well as in-home, skill-based education for parents. These evidence-based services are designed to strengthen and stabilize families to keep children safely in their homes.
Healthy Families
Healthy Families North Dakota is a welcoming home visiting program for expecting and new parents. As part of the nationally accredited Healthy Families America (HFA) model, our mission is to help families build strong, loving relationships and support safe, healthy environments where children can thrive.
Family Check-Up® (FCU)
The Family Check-Up® (FCU) program is a supportive program that helps families with children ages 2 to 17 improve parenting skills and deal with behavioral or emotional challenges in kids and teens.
Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT®)
Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT®) is designed to strengthen family relationships and improve communication for families with children ages 6 to 17. This evidence-based approach focuses on enhancing parent-child interactions, developing conflict resolution and parenting skills, while addressing issues such as truancy, behavioral problems, adolescent substance use, and other related challenges.
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a program for children ages 2 to 7 and their parents or caregivers that helps improve behavior, strengthen parenting skills, and build better parent-child relationships. In weekly sessions, trained therapists coach parents in real time using special tools, and most families finish the program in 12 to 20 sessions.
Funtional Family Therapy (FFT)
Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is a short-term program that helps youth ages 11 to 17 and their families deal with behavioral or emotional issues and build skills to support healthy development.
